About Ashley and Citystead Kitchen

Where we are and where we're going

Living in a city, with so many homesteading activities packed into our little kitchen, the name Citystead Kitchen seemed to fit so perfectly. I wanted to share our kitchen happenings and hopefully inspire and teach along the way. While starting and growing a youtube channel has been rewarding, interesting, challenging and fueled growth, helping others in more impactful ways is where I'm truly called.

By providing resources on this website, I am able to generate excitement and action for making healthier choices. Between full meal plans, a new guide to help people get cooking in the kitchen and the ingredient guides to help focus meals on certain proteins and vegetables, I'm dedicated to helping to make cooking with real food natural and normal. While the youtube channel is still active and I will continue publishing content periodically, this is the place where things are really happening.

With so much amazing information at our fingertips on how to live our lives in a way that makes us feel truly good and fulfilled, so many of us seem to fall short. While food is only one piece of the puzzle, it is one we can work on together, here. By preparing meals that are truly nutritious and reduce or eliminate the things that work against our health, we can make a huge difference in not only our live, but everything we put into the world too. Cooking at home from scratch is something that takes time. It doesn't always have to take a ton of time, but it does take time, there is no avoiding that. If we don't make the time for this, what are we making time for instead? Are those things fulfilling us in a way that gives them a higher slot in the order of importance? So much food marketing in today's world is geared toward fast, speed and saving us time. What are we giving up by falling for that?

I'm here to help others who are not satisfied with this dialog, one that we have been fed, not created on our own. I'm here to bring cooking into the kitchen, using real whole foods, as much as possible. I'm here to support anyone wanting to make these changes and wants a boost to get going and keep going, for however long that is.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about anything you find on the website or you are looking for something we currently don't yet have.

With gratitude for you,

Ashley
